BIRD WATCHING & PHOTOGRAPHY TOUR IN CHINNAR WILDLIFE SANCTUARY
Chinnar Wildlife Sanctuary located in the mouth of migration corridor between Western Ghats and Deccan offers excellent birding opportunities for rare , endemic and migratory species of birds. The grey headed bulbul, yellow throated bulbul, forest eagle owl etc are some of the high lighted species of this sanctuary. 143 species of birds from 30 families were recorded by KFRI study team, where 152 species are were recorded by individual birders. The sanctuary offers different types of habitat with micro climatic region. This enhances the density and diversity of birds in the area.Keen species : Grey headed bulbul, yellow throated bulbul, Blue faces Malkoha, Forest Eagle owl, Fish owl, White rumped shama, Grey breasted fly catcher, Mountain Imperial pigeon
THE TOUR
The tour consists of guided bird watching sessions giving thrust to target species along with other birds. Chinnar riparian forest, Kallikadu, Karakadu, Churulipatty, Champakkad, Vesyapara etc are important birds pocket in tourism zone of the sanctuary. One night two days package can cover these pockets. Day birding is also available.
