Geographically this trip is a vertical travel across Kerala, from its west to the east. For a wildlife enthusiast, this trip offers all major type of forest, landscapes, wildlife and culture. It covers nature trail and camping in rare and biologically rich Shola National Park, high altitude grassland, and tea plantation experience, mountain village experience in Marayur valley, and adventurous wildlife trek and camp rain-shadow forests of Chinnar Wildlife sanctuary.

After a drive through midland and Ghats section you will reach Shaola national Park in the east escarpment of Munnar plateau. The Forest is Southern Hilltop wet evergreen with high endemism and temperate climate. The forest is home for many endemic and restricted species of flora and fauna. This forest type claims 65MY of natural history. It plays major role in natural water management of the Ghats. This small patch of forest offers a jungle camp atop a hill overlooking its marsh and canopy. The camp is a wooden cabin with solar lights, mattress, blankets, proper western toilet etc. The location for the camp is ideal to watch wildlife movement , night sky etc. Freshly cooked food will be provided .NATURE TRAIL, WILDLIFE AND CAMP IN SHOLA FOREST
Nature Trail | Endemics trail
A nature trail through the forest facilitates to encounter its rare mammals like Nilgiri Langur, Nilgiri marten, Brown Mongoose, stripe-necked mongoose, brown palm civet etc apart from others like Sambar, Gaur , giant squirrel , elephants etc. It is also an endemic bird area with Nilgiri flycatcher , black and orange fly catcher, Nilgiri wood pigeon etc . The floral mosaic includes Golden tree ferns. Nature trail offered by the park is for 2hrs duration through the protected forest, but the campsite itself is in wildlife zone.TEA PLANTATION EXPERIENCE | MARAYUR VALLEY

The very next day you will be transferred to Marayur valley in the leeward of mountains. The village is famous for its sandal wood forest, ethnic farms and archeological sites. During the transfer you will be guided for a tea plantation experience walk with tea factory visit. Accommodation will be in a comfortable cottage / room. You can explore the village and its attractions in a guided walk. The village is in the outskirt of Chinnar Wildlife Sanctuary .CHINNAR WILDLIFE SANCTUARY- WALKING SAFARI AND JUNGLE CAMP
Walking Safari| Elephant Trail | Neolithic Trail | Jungle camping
Chinnar Wildlife sanctuary is right in the outskirt of the village. You will be transferred to Chinnar for walking safari and jungle camp. The jungle camp is wooden cabin inside wildlife zone, protected with stone walls and fencing. Tree house accommodation is also available , but very basic and no attached toilet. We will provide camping gears like mattress, sleeping bags, sheets etc. Freshly cocked meals will be provided in the camp .The team consist of one English speaking Naturalist, and two tribal guards.The very first day you will get a walking safari and dusk walk
